In our walk of faith, one of the most important things is to keep running—no matter the situation, no matter the environment. Even when things don’t seem to change, and we find ourselves simply waiting and praying for God to move, it is essential not just to wait but to keep doing what we can right now. Paul emphasizes this in his letter to the Philippians, saying that he presses on toward the goal.
There are times when we don’t know exactly what the right path is, when we feel like we’re fumbling in the dark. But even in those moments, taking small steps forward and not just thinking about what to do but actually acting on it is crucial for a believer. As we continue to run, God speaks to us and gradually makes the way ahead clearer.
We are called to move forward toward the goal God has given us, to harmonize with His work and His timing. Just as we can observe in nature, where the seasons change gradually but surely, God’s pace is steady—not too fast, not too slow—but always moving forward. We must align ourselves with that divine pace, not rushing ahead, not falling behind, but steadily pressing on at our own rhythm.
God works through those who act.
No matter how great a door God might open, if we remain seated and unmoving, we won’t be able to walk through it. But when we continue to move forward, aligned with God’s pace, His work will surely unfold in our lives.
So today, will you take that step forward and begin with what you can do right now?
Philippians 3:14
“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
