“In Each Step, There Is God’s Guidance”

Human progress does not begin with dramatic leaps, but with truly small steps. Even if we are only moving forward little by little each day, it is never meaningless. On the contrary, it is that very accumulation of small steps that leads us toward the goal God has prepared for us.

However, because our daily progress often feels small, we sometimes wonder, “Am I really moving forward?” It is in such moments that it becomes especially important to leave behind visible evidence of our growth—whether through keeping a journal, recording milestones, or capturing moments with photos or words. All of these are ways for us to visibly recognize the progress God is working within us.

At times, when we envision a distant and lofty goal, we may wish to get there quickly or hope for some miraculous shortcut. But God does not call us to shortcuts—He calls us to steady, daily steps. No matter how far the destination may seem, the path to it is built one step at a time, day by day.

That’s why, if you ever feel lost along the way or feel like you’re not making much progress, don’t panic. Instead, take time to reflect on your journey so far. You’ll find that you have grown—more than yesterday, more than last month, more than six months ago. And in that realization, you will see clearly that God’s guidance has been with you all along.

Our journey in life isn’t always filled with high energy or constant motivation. But even when our steps are small, if we continue walking steadily each day, we will one day look back and realize that God has drawn out incredible talents within us—talents we never knew we had—and led us to places we never imagined.

Proverbs 16:9 (NIV):

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”
